So the other day I worked out Michael Jackson’s problem. It was so achingly obvious I don’t know why nobody pointed it out before or maybe they did and I didn’t listen.
When he was younger and singing with the Jackson Five he was the lead singer and therefore the main money maker. Everybody has heard about his mean father. Well, he preserved Jacko’s famous high pitched voice by chopping his balls and therefore he never reached puberty. I don’t know what the medical term is for that but you know what I mean.
In the past they used to do this to choir boys so that they would never lose their perfect voice by it breaking at puberty.
Think about it. How many times did he show off his perfectly smooth chest without a inch of hair on it? His voice never changed through the years and it took until he was in his forties to start developing stubble. He could never have children (it has come out in the news that his ‘kids’ weren’t actually his). His marriages lasted a very short period. He loved playing with kids BECAUSE HE STILL WAS ONE.
I was right into his music when I was younger but for a long while listening to his music was totally uncool. At least in death he will be at piece and suddenly everybody loves his music again which is great.
His father created the ultimate pop icon for the world to enjoy but did he destroy a life at the same time?
I loved Diversity’s routines on Britain’s Got Talent but they were so damned short. I came across this longer video of them from a dance championship a year or two ago. You’ll notice quite a few moves that they used in the tv show.
Heres a really funny video of this kid who has had a bit too much drugs in the dentist. The dad is making some money off the hilarious video by selling “Is This Real Life?” T-shirts… But apparently they are for a good cause they are going towards providing money for underprivileged kids for dental treatment.
I found these videos online from FlyTV who filmed a short acoustic set of …And you will know us by the trail of dead in an alley behind their studio. Completely different to their normal stuff, here’s two songs from their new album – The Century Of Self.
This concert is live at the hall of Williamsberg in Brooklyn, New York. I think they have the same set list for all of their 2009 tour so It shouldn’t matter where you saw them live! The first thing I notice is that the American crowd in this vid seem much quieter than they were in both Liverpool and Birmingham where I’ve seen them. This video shows the highlights of the concert, to watch it all – click the link underneath the video.
One of my friends on facebook published a list of the 5 fighters they would want on their side in a bar fight which included the Terminator… At first I thought “omg the terminator… he is like unbeatable man”, but then I remembered he got wupped in terminator 2.
Although I think the terminator would kick ass in a long range fight with a load of guns, I think Wanderlei Silva would beat him in hand to hand combat. I couldn’t remember his name at first and went with Randy Couture but it’s obvious in my eyes that Wanderlei would win against most people. The guy is an animal. His nickname isn’t ‘the axe murderer’ for nothing. Sure sometimes he can get a little dirty, but we are talking bar fighting here.
Don’t let their name instantly put you off! This is a beautiful band.
Went up to Birmingham the start of the week to watch my most favorite band ever – …And you will know us by the trail of dead. An absolutely awesome band from Texas. Their music style is hard to explain it’s a combination of progressive rock/metal/ballad. Being quite biased I think it’s the best style ever created… We got in there early to watch the two support bands which were both pretty good. The first guys were a punk rock group from Brooklyn, New York. The second was a two man combo with a singer using way too much effects on his voice (a bad sign) and one of the best drummers I’ve ever seen who sported a massive “FOR SALE” tattoo on his chest that got a few laughs. When they’d finished my mates asked me why we were waiting around as the band was now finished perhaps they will do an encore..? I explained that we were waiting for Trail Of The Dead. “Didn’t they just play though?” was the answer. They were pretty drunk.
Trail came on and they didn’t disappoint, it was amazing. There was one point I thought to myself “I can’t stop dancing” I tried to stop but it was impossible. Jason Reece (the secondary singer) came to the front to do his song and complained that he couldn’t see the audience so he charged toward the bar where we were stood and leaned right above our heads to bang out his song! He used my mate as an arm rest but he suddenly seemed to get right into it and danced about. He pointed at me halfway through the song and thrust the microphone into my face to sing a few words. Great stuff. Name another band that lets you sing at the concert you’re attending!?
My neck was in agony for the next two days because of all the headbanging. I’ve seen about 110 bands live now including some major ones (foo fighters, david bowie, oasis, metallica) and I can say that trail of the dead are definitely the best band I have ever seen live. I’ve seen them twice now.
I hereby promise to go watch them live EVERY time they come to the UK! Click read more to see the videos – probably your new favorite band! Read more »
Well apparently I could survive for 9 whole hours trapped in my kitchen freezer… How it worked that one out is anybodies guess. I think they must have done studies of different people in freezers and timed them to see how long they stayed alive and what their habits were while trapped. Well if you want to find out how long YOU could survive in a freezer click on the pic below!
